A Venus with the Blues:
The Conservation Treatment of an
Yves Klein “Blue Venus” Sculpture

As a postgraduate fellow in The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Objects Conservation Department, I have spent nearly 8 months researching and implementing treatment techniques to address local areas of damage to an editioned sculpture titled “Blue Venus” by the 20th century conceptual and visual artist Yves Klein.

Below is a video of a 20-minute public presentation I delivered during the Museum’s annual Research Out Loud: Met Fellows Present series in May of 2025.

This project is ongoing and a broader publication is forthcoming.
